Get Involved
Getting involved is about more than posting jobs or sponsoring events - though both are excellent starting points. It involves contributing to the professional development of Kelley Indianapolis students in a variety of ways - from volunteering to conduct mock interviews and review resumes to speaking in one of our career-planning courses to offering internship opportunities for students of all majors. Below you will find descriptions of our most popular ways to get involved. You can view a full list of events by date and time in the schedule of events section of our website as well as the IUPUI Career Events Calendar. As always, please feel free to contact any member of our staff with questions or ideas for new programming.
If you are new to campus recruiting or considering offering an internship for the first time, we can offer you a number of suggestions to help you get started in the right direction. Additionally, we would be happy to visit you for a face-to-face discussion at your convenience.
Interested in expanding your recruiting reach beyond the Kelley School of Business to the broader IUPUI community? We can put you in touch with the right individuals and assist you with increasing your visibility across campus.
Recruiting Opportunities in Detail
CPO Sponsorship Opportunities
Our Kelley Career Partner Program has been customized to increase your organization's visibility among students and to develop a successful, long-term recruiting relationship. Multiple sponsorship levels are available. |
Panel Discussions
The CPO holds a series of panel discussions each semester as part of our required X320 - Career Planning course. These are extremely popular with students and an excellent way for you to share your own experiences as well as boost the profile of your organization. We try very hard to bring together 3 distinct panels of local professionals, but our success depends solely on your willingness to lend your time and expertise for just over an hour. Day and evening opportunities are available for Fall 2008. Recruiter panels are open to anyone working in recruiting, HR or staffing related positions or anyone who actively participates in the hiring process. Most questions relate to job search strategies.
Professional panels are open to working professionals and entrepreneurs across all fields and positions. These wide-ranging panels cover topics such as work-life balance, changing careers, work environments, professional development, office politics, and many more.
MBA panels are open to current MBA students and alumni from all universities and with any undergraduate degree. Students generally focus their questions on your MBA experience, the value of a degree, part-time v. full-time programs, the differences between an MBA and an undergraduate degree and much more.

Mock Interviews
We try to schedule as many mock interviews as possible throughout the year to help our students prepare for the real thing. If you prefer to work with students in a particular major, we can assist in helping to tailor your mock interview schedule. We offer 3 options for getting involved with mock interviews:
Suggested Fall 2009 dates are available in September (9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24), October (14, 15, 20, 22), and November (3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12). Additional dates are available upon request.

Speed Networking & Speed Interviewing
Speed Networking: This is your chance to meet 20 Kelley Honors students in less than 2 hours in a fast and fun environment. Students will speak briefly about their interests and experiences as you share information on your organization and its needs. Only one representative per company may attend. Coffee will be plentiful!
Speed Interviewing: A twist on speed dating and speed networking, this is a rapid-fire event where you'll meet with each student for 3-4 minutes until the bell rings and the next student takes a seat. This is yet another opportunity to meet 20 Kelley students in less than 2 hours in a fast and fun environment. Only one representative per company may attend.

Business Etiquette Lunch & Business Etiquette Dinner
The CPO puts on two etiquette events per year - a luncheon in the Fall and a dinner in the Spring. The events are free of charge to students and turnout is fantastic. Employers are encouraged to sponsor and attend these events. All sponsorship fees are used to cover the costs of the events and company logos are displayed prominently in all advertising leading up to and at the event. By far two of our most popular events of the year, these are excellent opportunities to interact directly with Kelley students. Business Etiquette Luncheon - October 5, 2009
Business Etiquette Dinner - March 29, 2010
Sponsorship levels (contact us for details): GOLD SPONSORSHIP ($800)
SILVER SPONSORSHIP ($600)
BRONZE SPONSORSHIP ($400)
