Director of Physician Executive Coaching and Full Adjunct Professor
“There’s a change in what you are trying to accomplish as a physician-executive as opposed to a physician directly delivering care. With the growing scale and impact of your decisions and actions, you can probably save more lives than you can by one-on-one care delivery,” he says. “The trade-off is that you’ll, typically, never know the names of those people whom you help. You help the population and not a single patient walking through your door. If you can deal with that trade-off, the experience can both be quite fulfilling and humbling.”
