Immerse yourself in the world of business.

Early on, Kelley Indianapolis students learn that knowledge doesn’t live just in the classroom. At Kelley Indianapolis, you’ll put your skills to the test right away, working alongside central Indiana companies to solve real-business problems.

From your first day and at every turn, Kelley students engage in projects with real companies, learn from renowned faculty who influence the way companies do business, and participate in year-round internships—all to transform your hard-earned classroom skills into real business savvy.

Your First-Year

Your first year at Kelley Indianapolis will give you a solid footing in the world of business. From a comprehensive introduction that covers all business aspects to a community service project designed to foster your leadership skills, you’ll learn how to deftly navigate the business landscape as you make a difference in your community.

The Integrative Core, or I-Core

A set of four integrated classes—marketing, operations, finance, and team dynamics & leadership—I-Core prepares you for a challenging, team-based project with a real central Indiana company. You’ll solve a real-business problem and will experience firsthand the ups and downs of running a successful business. Students say I-Core is one of the most meaningful experiences of their Kelley careers—a rite of passage to understanding the value of teamwork.

Internships

Our close proximity to Indiana’s business center makes year-round internships possible for many Kelley students. Through the Career Planning Office you’ll discover invaluable, and often for-credit, internship opportunities that will help you define your future career and develop the skills today’s employers seek. Combining classes with hands-on experience, our graduates are exceedingly well prepared for the workplace.

Capstone Experience

The ultimate test, your capstone experience challenges you to develop a business strategy, run a company, and see how your skills stack up against other business students nationwide, including graduate students in MBA programs. More than half the Kelley Indianapolis teams place in the top 10 percent each year.

Study Abroad

Kelley Indianapolis lets you take your education as far outside the classroom as you wish. With a variety of study abroad opportunities, including those sponsored by the Kelley School on the IU-Bloomington campus, you’ll expand your perspective of business practices in other countries and gain a competitive edge with potential employers.

Kelley Honors Program

High-performing students who seek an enriched and challenging learning environment can apply for the Kelley Honors program at the end of your freshman year. Students who complete the program receive an honors notation on your college transcript.

Business Minor or Certificate

Understanding the foundation of smart business is essential in nearly every career field. Whether you’re a working professional or an aspiring entrepreneur, a minor in business or a Business Foundations Certificate from Kelley Indianapolis allows you to enhance your career.

The minor offers a more intense classroom experience, while the certificate program works primarily in a distance format.
