Center for Excellence in Manufacturing

Leading the forefront of the manufacturing revolution.

Manufacturers in the United States are in the midst of a revolution, leading companies to invest in their facilities, people and technology in order to outpace competitors.

The Indiana University Kelley School of Business has launched a forward-thinking Center for Excellence in Manufacturing to research ongoing developments in manufacturing trends, share insight into best practices and innovate education for future leaders in the industry.

A unique offering unlike any other at a top-ranked business school, this center furthers our understanding of the ever-evolving challenges and critical strategies for manufacturers in the 21st century and beyond.

Why now?

Director Mark Frohlich discusses why the time is right for a Center for Excellence in Manufacturing and how it will support manufacturers – statewide and globally – moving forward.

With more than 8,000 manufacturers located in Indiana, Kelley experts have the unique opportunity to connect with these companies and compile current and relevant research on the state of manufacturing.

Through research and partnerships with manufacturers, this center produces insight and feedback on trends and future directions, providing business leaders valuable acumen into what’s happening in modern manufacturing.

Over the past few years, Kelley faculty members have noticed rising interest in manufacturing careers among our students. A $75,000 gift from the National Association of Manufacturers helped create the curriculum for MBA and undergraduate courses on business strategy in this industry.
